In Bible time, the wars seemed more definable. There were the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. All men with faces and bodies. Physical adversaries with weapons – spears, chariots, swords, and ox goads. Instruments of destruction.

But today, all too often, we put faces on our enemies. However, the problem is that people who oppose themselves against God’s people, though they are mortal, are prompted by the enemy of our souls. Their master, the prince of the air.

Thank God we are not the underdogs here!

Once we understand the nature of the battle, we see the possibility of total victory!

The enemy, the foe, the adversary is no longer in the physical realm but the spiritual, but just as God sent rescuers for the time in history, He again has done the same for us.

Remember Moses, Deborah, Gideon, and Ehud were all used by God for His people.
John 13:26, 27 records the gift of free-will given over to the enemy of our souls.

In Acts 19, the description of the vagabond Jews comes face to face with evil spirits. They powerlessly proclaimed, “We adjure you….by Jesus whom Paul preaches”. Just before they were informed by the evil spirit, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye?” Then the man in whom the evil was, leaped on the Jews, overcame them, prevailed against them, and they fled from the house naked and wounded.

There is no mystery. Our fight isn’t with man, but with principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph. 6:12). Which against us on our own, are powerless.

Removing the face of carnal people who allow the enemy to use them will take the armor of God. This armor is handcrafted by the mighty hand of God for victory. Fitted by Him to be the exact equipment needed at that specific time. Preparing His holy army to see the spiritual battle and in His divine power standing in His truth, His righteousness. Equipped with faith in Him to quench the fiery darts.

The whole armor is available and essential. Divinely sculptured to always, every time, and in all situations be perfect. The words of a hymn say, “The life of a Christian suits me.” Definition: Suit; apparel worn for a special purpose or under particular conditions, to be appropriate or satisfactory.

These earthen vessels, now divinely fashioned for God’s express use in the battle, will always be victorious, ever the conquerors. Suited and ready to see and correctly identify the enemy. A holy machine of war, vanquishing in Jehovah’s might. Do not falter. Press the battle on.
