During the Christmas season it would be comforting to believe for this short time there will be peace in and on earth.

The last “PEACE ON EARTH” was in the garden of Eden. It was perfect. Man was in the image of God, but unbelief destroyed peace.

In Mary’s day there was great need for peace. This was not the world God planned but because Adam did not believe God, the world was cursed. As now riddled with sin and sin bringing death.

Mary knew the Scripture. She was taught the Messiah would come. Much of her hymns of praise sounds similar to the one recorded in 1 Samuel 2 when Hannah praised God.

She  believed the Son of God would come. Women then dreamed of mothering a man child to save the world, while women today aspire to be rich and famous in this troubled, decaying, peace-less and  war torn world.

Genesis 2:16 – 17 records, “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest eat: But of the tree of  the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thou shalt surely die.”

From then (the act of Adam and Eve’s disbelief) the world started a downward spiral  ever worsening with an alarming speed to die.

Isaiah 9:6 reads, “For unto us a child born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name  shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The might God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”  Mary believed and was chosen to be a part of what we should believe today.  John 3:16 , “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but  have everlasting life.

The Christmas season is infused with buying, selling, giving and getting. Does anyone yet believe the world is and has been since the fall, in need of The Savior and that The Savior came over two thousand years ago? Not just the baby Jesus coming, but He came, died and supplied the cure!

Christ willingly left His home in glory because there was no other way. No other blood could wash away the stain of sin that separates us from the Love of God, our Father.

This season is about believing and taking God at His word. For you only need faith as a grain of a mustard seed. Then being able to say to the mountains in your life, “Be thou removed.” Faith will give God access to your heart and your life to speak peace to your soul while you earnestly wait for His World without end and Peace in Earth, good will toward men. – Luke 2:14
